Provigil/Modanfinil
Posted by Anitam10 on 12/1/17 at 6:05 am
People were asking in a previous topic about why Provigil/ Modanfinil is so exspensive. The reason is because there is no comparable drug. No competition like there is with drugs used to treat depression. There's a list of depression medications but not with provigil. There is a generic for provigil called Modanfinil. The only other drug is Nuvigil and it dosent work like provigil does. I have had very bad sleep apnea, narcolepsy and fatigue from MS since 2002. I have been on provigil since then. My insurance dosent want to pay for it so my doctor has to submit medically necessary paperwork every 6 months since 2002. Luckily I only pay $1.20 copay for 90 pills. (100mg 3x day). My medical conditions are not going to go away. Ever!! I am older to. You would think the insurance company could save time and money by just approving me for life.
