I was welding a few yards away in the same cracker unit the next heater over when I heard a peculiar sound, one you don't hear everyday, and kinda paid it no mind. Then I heard an ambulance siren kinda chirp one time. Then my fitters told me to come off the scaffold, "everybody gotta go to the lunch tent". When I got down safely, using the yo-yo that I didn't feel really worked right, they told me a young welder had fell and was possibly dead! I was in total shock!! I work for the same company and I'm just so devastated this happened to anybody! My heart goes out to his family. It could have very well been me.
