I went to LSU in the 90s and the last home game I attended was in 02.
It's sad to read about the new stadium experience. I can't believe they moved both the band and student sections.
Question, how much are student tickets for football today? Are basketball tickets still first come first served for the student section?
Back in the 90s you could get an entire season ticket package during registration for very cheap, fraternity tickets were reserve tickets and also very cheap. Many times I sat right at field level, all you had to do was show up early. Basketball would sometimes have students camping out for tickets, then again we got to see Shaq. Haha

It's all about worth. Does a season ticket holder buy season tickets because they enjoy THEIR seats, or their section, or because they like to get to know their neighbors and see them every year? Do they enjoy not having to look for tickets the week before or on game day? Do they buy season tickets because they're guaranteed to have them again next year, better seating at bowl games, family tickets for 50 years, or simply to monetarily support the program? All of that, or some of that, or other things create the value in season tickets, none of which may be valuable to other people
Well said. I used have season tickets to multiple teams/sports, usually buying the 2nd or 3rd cheapest level of seats. About 8 years ago I stopped all of that and started using places like stubhub. I don't go to every game anymore, but I enjoy the experience a lot more and saved a ton of money. Now I buy tickets almost exclusively in what would be considered expensive areas at a fraction of the cost.
I miss getting a real shot at playoff tickets, but in the end I actually enjoy this experience more.

Once we start having the attitude of "Oh well. frick it. Let's just try and be positive about this clown show", is the moment we begin to accept mediocrity. I refuse to let that happen without voicing my concerns.
Totally agree.
I was a Miles supporter and didn't like the heat he took from fans but also understood it. The fans, under Miles, were not going to accept mediocrity. Yet for O it seems they are willing to do just that (not everyone of course). O's Florida win would have been described as the team winning in spite of their HC.
I assumed we were firing a successful coach to bring an even more successful and promising coach to the program. We didn't and seem to be the process of falling from the ranks of CFB's successful programs.
I feel as if the attitude you described took hold once most of the fan base accepted the suggestion that we are a team without SEC talent or true depth.

Will some of the O hate subside? I have never seen this much vitriol toward their coach from any school, ever.
Really? Never? Miles was treated like garbage and he won a NC at LSU. In fact, many fans still refuse to give Miles credit for any success he had at LSU including that NC.

The laughing stock that is currently LSU must be a hot story right now.
It is.
LSU started the season ranked 12th and it was assumed they would be undefeated heading into Florida. There were preseason expectations that ranged from 2nd in the SEC to a at worst 9 win season. Nationally no one discussed the 2017 Tigers as a rebuilding rebranding project, yet here we are with our very own coach saying the current roster can't get it done.
I was driving home Wednesday and on my local sports show (Pedro and Money) they brought up LSU and predicted hiring O was similar to sanctions at SC. LOL

Is it just me because I see this shite going down the same road .
No, it is not just you ... I see it the same way. You can even make strong comparisons to Nebraska.
Consistently ranked winning programs firing successful coaches for both not winning impressively enough and not changing their offensive systems to a more popular modern style. That is exactly what happened at all 3 schools.
The irony is that some LSU fans thought that Miles made LSU a national joke, instead it's O and it's happening in a very public way (ESPN certainly hasn't been shy about it, USA Today isn't holding back). It's hard to climb back into national prominence, yet very easy to fall. My fear is attracting a true top level coach in 3 years (when I believe O will finally be fired) instead of having to take a chance on an up and comer. Having a nationally recognized HC is worth it's weight in rankings gold and that is what CFB is all about if you want to be in the discussion and covered nationally.

Now, we're the new poster child for spoiled, unrealistic fanbase and administration; we've jumped Tennessee, Nebraska, Miami, and the Dallas Cowboys with Barry Switzer. People are going to shake their heads and say "let's be careful, we don't want to do what LSU did".
We literally did what both Michigan and Nebraska did ... fired winning nationally respected coaches because they didn't win impressively enough or update their offenses to more trendy systems (basically more passing).
Fans were not happy winning with the run, they wanted high passing stats and 90s Florida like football scores. Michigan and Nebraska did the very same thing. Someone else will do it in the future.

People outside of the south just don't take CFB that seriously.
To them it's like "8 wins, what's the problem?"
Again, we're talking about general perception. People think everyone was laughing at LSU and that wasn't these case at all, at least not to people I talk to. LSU was seen as a very solid program.
Same here. I'm in Los Angeles and everyone I know respected our program, I would even go as far to say that Miles gave us an identity. I also agree that 8 wins here is different than 8 wins in the SEC.
Under Miles we had the kind of identity that keeps you ranked even during a 4 loss season and keeps you in the daily various national college football shows. I know locally that was never the feeling, but nationally it was. CFB is a fickle sport and few teams capture that identity we seemed to have lost.
I've been watching CFB a long time and I've learned that no team/fan base is ever satisfied, it just sucks when it's teams that had a great coach/program identity....Nebraska, Michigan, Miami, Texas, and most recently LSU.
All that said, we are a laughing stock under O. Just listen to or watch any of the national CFB shows.
Isn't that part of the problem, being themselves and not playing as a team. It's kind of a joke watching players celebrate and taunt while down 20+ points, in fact they looked like jackasses.
Any style of play (or attitude) can win games, I prefer the business like approach compared to what I've seen from O's 2017 Tigers. Maybe in 3 years we will be the new 80s Miami however I doubt it, rather we will be one of the many mediocre teams that continue to celebrate and taunt while down 20+ points to an underdog.

Unfortunately, Yes
Standard should equal 10 wins. Les was held to a higher standard because some years 10 wins just wasn't enough. Not sure why O gets more latitude and much lower standards.
