re: Where to put some extra money?

Another option is to put it in a high yield savings if it's for an emergency fund. If you rather invest it, then put int in a low fee mutual fund like VTSAX that covers the entire US market. Average returns over the last 100 years is like 10-12%. Again, this is for long term money (minimum 5 year...

You guys makes a boat load of money. You could be saving it or spending a lot of it. It depends on the lifestyle you want. Everyone has already posted good responses on 1)Track your spending to see if you truly are spending on what you want to spend on right now. 2) Determine what is a want and w...

Gary V said it right when he said, that this entire stunt is publicized and will show everyone how little faith the parents had in their kids abilities.
They messed up raising them in terms of academics, I think one of the daughters is like some YT influencer with makeup and whatever. The daug...

I know it'll be a good amount of work on my end. I think a large concern is making sure the work done by the contractor is done right and warrantied. If I jack up the finishes it would be on me. Thanks all for helping and sounds like it's possible but need to clarify this well in writing with the co...
Personally, you would have to pay me the profit I would have marked up that sub price for me to do the QC
I hear you. So long as you can get it to the point where I can work on it myself to finish the rest at an agreeable price. Are you a builder? ...

Man that's going to be tough in Prairieville @ $75 (I'm assuming lot included since not specified) The biggest thing I see is that you doing any work delays the build versus a sub. Contractors build as a business, and floating a loan on a build hurts if added time ...

I never gave a thought about financing much, but I also would finance over 50% myself if the final number was within my range. I'll definitely talk with a local bank to see what they require, I guess it would be a self construction loan of some sort. But if I had a local builder that would be will...

DIY friendly home builders

I've read a lot of threads on cost per sf to build a home but not much about if you want to do some of the work yourself to save a little. We are a single income family with two young kids so anything we can save helps. I live in Prairieville and would like to stay close to around here. Looking to s...
