Gigabit Routers
Posted by TigerAlumni08 on 9/23/15 at 12:02 pm
Hey guys, I will be having LUS gigabit fiber installed in a little over a week and was planning on buying a gigabit router for the house. I'm in the market for a good reliable router that will help me utilize the increased internet speed. To give you an idea of how much media will be connected to this network I will have a gaming computer hard wired in, 2 cell phones using wireless, 3 tv's using wireless (sometimes streaming simultaneously), and 2 tablets also on wireless. I know gigabit is overkill, but LUS was offering a free upgrade from 80mbps so I took it.

Thank you for that part list, that helped out a lot. I was able to lose the SSD card which I know is nice but not necessary for what i'm doing. Don't need the keyboard so dropped a few bucks there, and also changed cases. I've used thermaltake before and like it a lot so i'm confident in it. brought price down to around 602 which is what I was looking for. Thanks for all the help guys, here is the link to the parts if you wanna critique it on your own. PCPARTS LIST

Budget is around $600. I have a monitor/keyboard/mouse. I'm not interested in newer games like I said. The only games I have time for or will play are CS:GO,LOL, and WOW. That's why I'd prefer them to be able to be played at max settings. I'd preferably like to build around an I5 processor as I prefer Intel. I appreciate everyone's input thus far. Also, a full tower case to make it easier to work with and upgrade.
Looking to build/have a comp built

Hey guys, the last comp I built was about 6 years ago and it finally died on me. I'm looking to either build one myself again or pay someone to do it for me. The problem is that I haven't kept up on the recent hardware and I'm not familiar with bang for your buck items these days. I was wondering if you guys could give me a roundabout number on what I should expect to pay for a mid-range comp.
The computer will mainly be used to play simple games like CS:GO, WOW, and LOL. I'd like them to play on max settings which shouldn't be hard considering their age. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

re: Counter Depth Fridge Worth it?

Thanks for the info guys. I'll probably end up just getting the counter depth because it's just us two and space isn't a huge factor (at least for a few years). Will look into the frigidaire brand. The location of the fridge is on the right side of the island. $500 doesn't seem like a whole lot when I factor in the thought that the SO will point out the other every time we are in the kitchen.
Counter Depth Fridge Worth it?

New house and have to purchase a fridge. Apparently standard fridges stick out up to 9 inches from the cabinets and looks awkward. Same brand/style fridge as counter depth is nearly a $500 difference and will make the SO happy but I'm OT poor and think the money is better spent elsewhere. What does the OT think?
