Cold winters, but manageable. Similar to other cities in the South, a winter storm shuts down the city and cleans out the stores. We tend to get one every couple of years. Best to stay home since it's less snow and more ice. Middle Tenn is full of hills so driving is not advisable.

Great city. Lived here for many years now. The growth is ongoing and that will present some major issues in certain areas. As stated previously, Williamson Cty is where a lot of young family types gravitate. It is getting pricey. Not sure what your prospective home budget is right now, but check out Nolensville. It's a great location and has been booming lately. Still some great opportunities though. It's in Williamson Cty and will have 3 new schools next year. Plenty of back roads to the Cool Springs / Franklin / Brentwood area where a lot of the jobs are. Drive into Nashville could be a bit of a bitch depending on time of day though. Wife & a kid here and that's where we are building. Plenty of stuff to do in this area. E-mail me if you have any specific questions. Lived here since '98 and before that was in nearby Clarksville. Watched the Dead play two nights here back in 95. Strange venue for a Dead show. Even stranger for a Bass Pro Shop.
