Hmm. So the only time LSU will win a World Series in baseball is if Phil Jackson wins an NBA title.

Wasn't there some pressure coming from the middle on the play? Not sure if he could have stepped up regardless.
This is true, but I worry about my RB depth if something happens to Rice or MJD. If one of them goes down, I feel much more comfortable with Thomas Jones than Brian Westbrook at this point.
But at the same time, I would rather have Manning than Schaub. Not sure if I should pull the trigger or not.

Analyze this trade...

I was offered this trade in a 12 team league(1qb/3wr/2rb/1te/1k/1def)...
I would give up Matt Schaub and Thomas Jones
I would receive Peyton Manning and Brian Westbrook.
My current team breaktown:
QBs: Schaub, Flacco
RBs: MJD, Ray Rice, Thomas Jones, Reggie Bush
WRs: Ochocinco, Greg Jennings, Steve Smith (CAR), Devin Hester, Hakeem Nicks
TEs: Kellen Winslow, Todd Heap
Should I go through with it??

He means the spread as in the actual point spread in the game.

Who to pick up from Oakland: Bush or Fargas?

Tough week with bye's. Should I pick up Fargas or Bush from Oakland?
quote:
o really. handcuffs suck n e ways. especially that one. you only do that if you know both are going to get about split carries. johnson & white, barber & jones, williams & stewart, maybe tomlinson & sproles, those are the only ones that should even be considered. you have no idea how many carries mccoy is going to get.
So you don't think the previous poster meant that he would have McCoy in case Westbrook got injured? How often is Westbrook healthy a full 16 games?
By scrimmage, I mean during the week he faced two hitters live in practice.

I heard that he was at 87-89, but he threw two pitches that hit 92. For what it's worth, in the scrimmage, he supposedly was throwing consistently in the low 90s.

Destrehan being ranked as a tie for 10th is pretty funny I would say.

no, im not going to say it wont be ready. i do have a question though. what is the building with all the windows out past the right field wall?
The hitting facility I believe
quote:
Best way to combat that is run straight at them with a power running attack. What does WM do again?
Are you sure the best way is by a power running attack? You may want to check and see what East St. John did against Destrehan with their power running attack with Alex Singleton. Or you may even want to ask Mr. Lacy and Mr. York from Dutchdown how effective their power running game was. Bottom line is Destrehan's defense is very good. They are big AND fast up front, and they are very balanced. Your best shot of beating them is having a QB who can buy time and who is VERY ACCURATE on the deep ball. Just as Higgins proved last night, you can run all game long, but Destrehan's defense comes up with stops when they need to. Balance is needed.
I think too many people look into scores of games to determine how good a team is. For example, against Higgins it was raining most of the game, which gives a big advantage to the more run-oriented team (Higgins). But still, Destrehan FOUND a way to win. That is the thing with Destrehan. They are not near as talented as last year, but they continue to FIND ways to win in the playoffs, even though they haven't been playing their best ball.
Also, winning 27 in a row DOES matter. It means that Destrehan just KNOWS how to win. It also means that they play with that extra confidence that all good teams play with.
Destrehan may lose this Friday to Central. I believe they will win, but you never know. I also think that Barbe without Janzen Jackson is a different team. Therefore, I'll go with WM. We can talk about a possible WM/Barbe vs. Destrehan/Central matchup next week.

Jordan Jefferson will not be better than Lee. Are you retarded. Lee has shown spurts of what he has coming for LSU in the future.
Retarded? How do you know Jefferson won't be better? You must be retarded if you think Lee will without a doubt be better. Of course he may be now, but he also has a years worth of experience over JJ. My big thing with Lee is that I don't think he is very accurate. He VERY RARELY hits receivers on stride, and this has nothing to do with experience, especially when he can't complete passes to receivers on quick screens.
quote:
He is probably one of the most talented quarterbacks that LSU has had in a long time.
See JR and RP (we are talking TALENT alone)
quote:
He just needs some experience. Trust me this guy will be gone from LSU by his Junior year. He will be that good!
What has Lee done thus far to instill that type of confidence you have in him? Hell, JJ has a better arm, is more mobile, and who knows what he can bring in his redshirt freshman year.
All that said, I like Jarrett Lee a lot, and I think he can end up being good, but don't annoint him yet, and don't count on JJ because no one really knows.

I'd pay LSU type tix prices to see a Bastrop-West Monroe matchup.
That would be a game for the ages IMO
I think a game more people would want to see is a Bastrop/Destrehan game. Both teams are defending champs and rolling again this year.
quote:
I don't know if that will happen now that they have Booger and Ellis.
I don't think Booger is on the team. They brought him in and looked at him, but I don't think he was ever signed. He isn't even on the roster. Can anyone confirm this?

Jordan Jefferson = Lester Ricard...
We'll all forget him when Russ Sheppard steps on campus. Tulane will need a QB for 2010.
RS has the arm of JR, accuracy of Tom Brady, and the speed of TH. Oh yeah, and he can walk on water too.
I too don't think JJ is the answer from day 1, but I also don't think it is right to call him the next Lester Ricard this early. I think it is extremely comical and premature.
