If operator pay was Walmart pay i would have finished my engineering degree.
Fight for what. This wasent to help workers only reason y'all gone back to work is because ppl were standing up against the union. That's why they backed off the contractor bs. I never wished guys I work with any harm glad there comin back.
I don't need the union, the union needs me. It takes more balls to cross the line then sit out. Ole boy stood for what he believed in. Just cause you drink the koolaid don't mean I have to. No side wins in negotiations, but we didnt come out ahead here. We basically have a contract we would have never had to go out for. Usw backed down. They had lack of support and rightfully so. We have enough "scabs and rats" running things out here now I really don't care if the union fellas don't want anything to do wit me. Why don't you get off this thread and go hold your sign one last time you ignorant fool.
Well on a brighter note if you return to work soon all your benifits are retro.
We already have a higher percentage coming back than deerpark
It's not just that non union members were locked out its what the union is pushing for that is causing the strike. I have nothing to thank usw for I can represent myself just fine. If they were gone.
Sounds like another indirect threat from the union. Instead of making an argument to support your claims you result to bullying your coworkers. I don't think you can defend usw's actions. Usw has sold out its members we are not selling out our coworkers. Most I've talked to don't agree with usw and are just tring to hold out to avoid the harassment of the usw stronghold. Usw is crawfishing and resorting to scare tactics and bad politics. How typical. If usw is serious about safety concerns they will take routine jobs of the table. They very well may seeing the resistance they are currently getting. If usw did that and happened to have valid safety concerns companies weren't willing to resolve why hasen't the union already intervened. Take routine jobs of the table we will have fair contract. Let local decide on there nonessential staffing.
Ur still an employee every thing stays the same. You should contact hr for more info 465-5272 the only thing we lost was vacay the longer we stay out. The rumors about getting fired are false and company reps have already stated harrasment of any kind will not be tolerated. We have laws to protect us we just need to stick together. I go back in tommorow morning. Good luck
Little phone with auto correct changing words constantly, but thanks for worrying about something so trivial............... Yes this is a union shop this also a right to work state. I am manning up and more than you realize. You can fight for the union leaders gain I'm not for it. If we were fighting for workers rights I'd be out right now if there were ulp why havn't they brought up already to NLRB.
I'm with you just remember to hold yourself to the highest standard ppl are watching and ppl are scared. Emotions will be high but we must respect or opposition and help our fellow coworkers we will be bringing in money dont shy from lending a hand. These guys are family to me I wish they were all back at work its a strange sad feeling eating lunch without the usual faces especially knowing they share your opinion. Stay strong and well show them what honor and brotherhood is all about
I've been tring to tell ppl abt usw's agenda for years they aren't looking out for there workers only there bottom line. By the way I crossed today I could have worked as temp strike replacement co madicorp but I decided to cross our own line to give the next guy the courage to standup against usw. Many here are members just out of fear and intemidation. Don't be surprised if u see usw taking routine maintance bs out of contract and we get our retribution clause after their loss of support and resistance within the ranks. None of the union bosses will ever admit it if it happens to play out that way. I am against big unions but for collective bargaining i was never part of usw im standing for what i beleive in and as long as yall are too on either side wish evryone best of luck. Me and a couple crossing will be pooling money if any one needs a hand.
U wouldn't never have to rep me I carry my own and some. I wouldn't want that job either
U musta been shop steward at some point yes
As I said earlier this is a right to work state some choose not to be union political beliefs whatever. It's their right and there's not alot of refinery chem jobs out there. Like they tell hiring classes out of however many thousand we picked you. That was literal. Many just want to work its not our place to try and shove our beliefs down their throat. If someone doesent beleive in this and decides to cross I have nothing but respect for him/her it takes some iron to do that.
Yea but in this case I don't think there likley to think this way. It's foolish to remain loyal to someone betraying you. Crossing line is not showing disloyalty to coworkers or anybody in this case. I believe most reasonable folk here can agree with that. But there will be your radicals.
It's hard to say what they might think if they came from union background and this strike accualy ment somthing they may look down on it. Upper management probly wouldn't. It's hard to say some people are unreasonable about this stuff.
I don't think that's gona be the case so much here. Alot of our management came from union. Don't think it would be good move for promotion.
U talk talking bout the fellas spend more time under the desk
What type. This is a right to work state they are just workers tring to provide for there families. If they were usw and actually believed in what this strike is for I would say yes they are cowards or scabs if u wish.
This ain't the 70's-80's there's laws protecting workers from union harrasment. As for me I dont blame them I don't now whats going on in there lives. Rather see them make a check than sit out and support usw agenda.
