re: The shed won best whole hog and grand champ at Memphis in may
Posted by RTW1 on 5/22/18 at 10:16 am to arseinclarse
Agree 100%. I went twice spent $50 just me. Took a bite of each meat and side got up threw all in the trash & walked out. My mistake was giving it a 2nd chance. Both times there was at least 2 huge tour busses in the parking lot. If people like it, good for them, all have different tastes and likes but IMO it’s crap!
Yes. It sucks. We compete in ribs. Same team always wins and one of the cooks is on the MIM Board from what I’m told by several teams.

I have competed with my team at MIM the last 4 years and I know all these guys. Brad and Chris bring in guys from other places who have years of competition experience to cook and help cook. Competition cooking with this help is different and the food is good.
The last 2 years they also changed the blind box. Years past was a number on the box now it’s the team name and tent number on the box. So the blind judges know what they are eating. Chris won last year and Brad year before and this year. 10 Bones has won ribs almost every year in last 5+ years. Makes you wonder.
As far as Big Bob’s I’ve never been and can’t comment.
The Shed on the other hand is terrible. Brad & Brook basically let the staff run The Shed and all they do is basically steam ribs in tin foil and sauce on the smoker. All their meat is mushy, over cooked and over sauced.

re: Will Mike ever return to Tiger Stadium?

I never get on here & post & I can give 2 shits about what y'all say or think. But I'm tired of hearing people bitch about Mike not being in the Stadium. It's Over. Quit whining. I know it was the tradition but that day has sailed. We are lucky to have a live Tiger on campus. Go see him in his habitat and enjoy.
And while I'm at it Aleva needs to go along with F. King. Clean House.

It says Sell By Date not Eat By Date. As long as they have stayed cold and don't stink like road kill I would use. Pork can stay in a fridge or ice chest that is very cold for a week with no problem.
Call them and ask for Chase. He will get you what you need. Chase is the plant manager and very nice guy. If he is busy Mrs. Kathy will also help you.
They will also refurbish older ones to almost new. Not sure the cost.

We had 2 units towards back on Manchac side. Didn't even think about storage at the time. Went by Sun morn and saw it was taking on water. Water started rising quick. We are building a house and most all we owned was in there.
Wish they would have sent an email earlier to warn us. The manager lives on the property.
Oh well is what it is.
Lots of people lost everything and my prayers and thoughts are with all.

I received the email on Mon but not the other emails. We were able to get most stuff out Sunday but there is still some stuff that was ruined we didn't grab. Went by at 1 today and it was a mad house. Screw it they can clean my unit and throw away all. I expect this months refund or partial refund. I bet we don't see that.

I'm in units 532 & 548 on the Anytime Fitness side. Was almost knee deep when I left at 6-6:30pm. Not sure on the other side. Appears to be about same from what I could see. Backed the 4Runner in through the gate all the way to door 6. Water was almost inside 4Runner when we left.

I was there from 9-6 off and on. When we left water was almost knee high. Our units were 532 & 548. The front wasn't as bad but was starting to take on water. First few units were still dry at 6pm but water was still rising.

We never thought it would flood. We been there a while also. Homeowners won't cover the flood damage that I am aware of.

No. Sorry, I don't remember either. Managers Son In Law didn't know and I never saw manager. Was planning on going to ask in the morning. My old neighbor has a unit there and I ran into him. He did say that he talked to manager on insurance but never got a straight answer.

Same situation. Building a house and all belongings in same storage. Went about 9am to start getting stuff out. Our unit was in the back. Within a few hours water went from a few inches to almost knee deep. Father in Law drove in from Natchitoches with a motorcycle box trailer. He didn't get here until 4. We got most out but it's all ruined. It sucks but there are a ton of people who lost everything. Prayers with All.
