New SEC football documentary

Posted by Live4MIZ on 11/10/23 at 10:21 am
It's not some ESPN or Netflix type release but follows two sports fans that quit their jobs and went to a different SEC game each week for an entire season.

Saturday SuprEmaCy
3:00 pm. The nation's #1 defensive recruit (according to Rivals.com) will choose between Mizzou, OU, Ten, Georgia and Oregon today. You can watch him pick the Tigers at this link at 3:00 pm central today: Nwaneri Decision Live
I don't agree with all of these but I'll take it! Another SEC team ranked ahead of us? No way!

10 best fan bases in America
I have to admit I would have to think about this a little more. So many great fan bases in the SEC I always think about Alabama, UGA but I've been to A&M and I think this fits. Also, Lakers? No LA fan base is deserving of this IMO

My goal is to get to them all. Only have College Station, Auburn, Starkville and Columbia SC to go.

Slow clap for Eli Drinkwitz, although should he really be ahead of Leach after getting massacred in Starkville?

I see what you mean there.

Would consider watching.

Most "Famous" SEC players

I don't know if I would categorize Aaron Hernandez as "famous" but...

I'll say this about Columbia, you get the full college campus experience including beautiful fall foliage, the columns which shield Jesse Hall and the famous Francis Quad. A truly first class campus.
Mizzou 13 over 07 any day of the week.
I could see it happening. He's almost 70, nothing at all to prove but obviously loves coaching.
i guess I'm not all that knowledgeable about the 1992 Alabama team but they seem kind of high considering the dominance we've seen from Saban. I remember being surprised they dominated Miami like they did though.

How about Kansas, going from 19,000 to 33,000, the largest increase of the year!

Oh yeah, have to be impressed with that
I don't know if coach Drink can actually coach but he's a hoot.

He seems depressed honestly, if you listen to the whole podcast he talks about how he recently started doing his own podcast and how that's all that keeps him going.

Not really a realistic goal for the time being IMO but Drink's recruiting momentum will hopefully pay dividends especially with Elite 11 QB Tyler Macon in years to come. Have to stop a 5 game losing streak to UK, stop losing to Vanderbilt and beat SC more than once every 5 years to start thinking about that again.

re: Mizzou up to 19 recruiting

It's a good feeling as following Mizzou recruiting is absolutely boring most years. Now, we have had some success with unheralded players over the years which is great but we never finish in the top 25 in recruiting.

They will lose to Arky though

Yes, just like always.

Definitely 2012 if Dooley. I think this was the game half of the Vol fan base was actively rooting for Dooley to choke so he would be 100% gone.

This is fairly accurate from my memories of being at the game. It was my first SEC road game and was kind of in awe although the stadium was probably not quite 3/4 full. I remember people around me talking like "Hey, we've got to get Dooley out of here, congrats Mizzou." We lost to Syracuse at home the next week to remove ourselves from bowl contention.
Not sure what Gary Pinkel's chances are but it's cool to see him on the ballot.

SEC coaching Tiers

Orgeron in the same company as Saban? That's a no from me.
Coaching Tiers
Florida keeping it close late into the second half and Vandy scoring like 35 points were both more shocking.
This game was 2012 although we won there in 2014 and 2018 as well.

This is very accurate.
Was in attendance in Atlanta that day. Drove through a driving ice storm in Kentucky overnight to get there. One of the great sports atmospheres I've ever seen. Auburn fans were outstanding, loud and the game was as high-octane an offensive output as you'll see.

Mizzou had a terrible defensive gameplan that sat back and let Auburn create large running lanes EVERY SINGLE PLAY. A great memory for sure, just the fact that Missouri had bucked all the projections to be in that game and I think we gained some respect that day.

Excited to hit up Starkville this year...you know if there's a world by then.
