Overwatch and halo 1/2/3.

To me, MLG was born with Counter Strike and Halo 2. It died after Halo 3.
The first mlg game was halo 1, but yeah halo 2 and 3 took it to a new level. I remember seeing final boss/str8/carbon on tv during halo 2 and then during halo 3 we had t2 on millions of dr pepper bottles. That stuff was so ahead of its time. Sad that reach came out.
I don't remember cs being big during the old mlg days. I didn't know much about the game until it had a big resurgence in the last few years.
@op, I don't enjoy competitive cod, but I've watched some matches just because I'm a fan of formal.

Hell, i laugh at them, but Professional gaming draws kids away from playing sports, and in Europe, you have much more games that have tourneys(especially ww2 based, europeans, especially eastern love them some WW2 games)
It's a real problem. I blame my obesity on competitive madden entirely. Legislators need to ban competitive gaming so that kids stop wasting their lives and getting fat as opposed to playing traditional sports like the good lord intended.

As a Halo purist myself
don't call yourself that if you enjoyed standoff and motion tracker.
I'm still not convinced you know what aim down sights means.
you can say h5 is the same as h4 all you want, and while warzone certainly resembles it, the arena is based on balance and skill.
and yes, I'd rather not have abilities, but at least we know that there will be a skill gap with jumps again, which was not true at all in reach and h4 where some people could jetpack and others couldn't.
quote:
There aren't any button glitches in H5, either.
I only mentioned button glitches because they sped up the pace of gameplay in h2, and the lack thereof made the pace in h2a feel even slower.
Fact of the matter is, as much as I wish sprint and other abilities were not in the game, this will still be the most competitive basic slayer settings since halo 1, and that is really exciting. And christ I can't wait to learn power weapon nading on the new maps.
if h5 just increased base player speed, got rid of sprint, added static timers, and made the magnum a 4sk... oh well.
also, we should all be very grateful for a serious csr again.

I just don't know why they couldn't have taken what they did with H2A, and used it as a foundation for H5.
Good god no. That shite was just a sad imitation of h2. Essentially it was h2 with a lot more bullet magnetism, grenade markers, random interactive maps, and no button glitches. halo 2 is my favorite halo, but there's no way in hell I could have watched another season of h2a. I am happy to have a serious magnum as a skillful utility weapon again, I just wish they would have made it a 4sk. oh well.
also, I'm assuming you know all of the abilities can be cut off in custom games? and in the arena, you only show up on the motion tracker when you sprint, thrust, and shoot. and sprinting keeps your health/shields from recharging. I am a halo purist, but the way they have made the abilities either leave you more vulnerable/punish you at least gives me hope that they're focusing on one thing halo has been lacking for a while now, real decision making. Going for power weapons/powerups should always be a gamble, and 343 are finally making it a gamble to use your abilities.

the ads stuff is really just aesthetic. ads in most games actually slows the player down/increases the accuracy of the weapon/etc. in h5 it basically just takes the place of the traditional zoom in from previous halos, but now you can do it with any gun. smg and ar have been toned down a lot since the beta. and thankfully you get zoomed out again if you get shot, which was one of the worst things in h4. yes, it is undesirable that 343 have to attempt to appeal to the fans of cod and destiny, but we are fortunate for the arena playlists. while there are spartan abilities, sprint is not very beneficial and at least thrust is something everyone has rather than reach/4 where one person has a jetpack and the other person has armor lock. I'm not a fan of the spartan abilities, but I think they're moving in the correct direction finally.
That's how h5's arena multiplayer is designed.
And yes, after mcc, I completely understand not trusting 343.

Kimmy is a fish out of water just like Kenneth. Tossed in odd religious experiences just like Kenneth with Reverend Gary.
Dfwan was funny in very small doses on Queen of Jordan but as a full blown character he is terrible and far more over the top. He is like a caricature of Dfwan.
Jacqueline is the exact same "look it me" character as Jenna. Her daughter adds nothing to the show.
whoa man, slow down on your comedy knowledge. nbc might be looking to hire you if you're not careful.

weird view, but I can see people having that opinion. Only comedy writers really enjoyed 30 rock. Fey and Carlock aren't exactly geared towards middle americans.

The silent majority still exist. They step up when they need to and they think their efforts will not be futile. I still have hope that what seems like the norm now is not our true America, but a façade created by a liberal media, politicians, and their minions to help make their deviant, irresponsible lifestyles and choices more acceptable. Ultimately, good people will rally and put an end to this bullshite...but things are gonna have to get worse, a lot worse I'm afraid. Those of us with something to live for and something to lose don't have anything to gain, but everything to lose if we are attacked by the left. But, there will come a time that we cannot and will not sit idly by. We will show the strength and will that those destroying this country cannot muster. As Reagan said, we are a peace loving people and want to avoid conflict if possible, but there is a line we will not cross, a price we will not pay for "peace". We are mankind's last, best chance for freedom on this planet. I still feel our best is yet to come.
