I think the home field advantage was the difference. I am not sure UGA pulls that out in Baton Rouge.
Both defenses (uGA and LSU) are a little down, but UGA does have a very veteran offense and a senior QB. I understand feeling like no one should ever score over 30 points on a good defense, but these were both very good offenses.

Wow! How about Mettenberger!

He was a beast on Saturday. As a Georgia fan, I was beyond impressed. He had better numbers than Murray. He is a special talent. He has a great future. Two very even teams today and it American down to who had the ball last (almost).

Good luck the rest of the way!

Ridiculous.

Is that any different than a grown man Saying "Who dat?" Much less, as I alluded to, wearing garishly outrageous clothing. I like it.

Apparently. I must have ended up in backwards land. Somehow a compliment becomes an insult.

It doesn't change my perspective. I went to UGA and love my school, but I have a real appreciation for the LSU fan base. Its one of the many things that make college football fun and worth watching. :dude:

Well, that score was a little misleading. UGA gave up two ridiculous special teams plays that cost the team 14 points. UNTs offense only scored 7 points. It could have just as easily been 45-7 (or worse).

Still, these two teams are mirror images of each other in some ways. I do think LSUs D- line and O-line are a little better which concerns me, but having capable running backs and a senior QB calms my nerves some.
Maybe if it were in Baton Rouge. This one's between the hedges. :nana:

Why I love LSU fans.

The thing I enjoy most about college football is the excitement and passion that the game provides for the fans and perhaps no one is more excited than the crazy a$$ LSU fans. At home they pack the stadium and they are loud. They are knowledgeable about the game and know when to yell and when not to yell. let me mention just a few things that are unique about LSU fans.

1. They dress crazy for the games. Now many schools in the conference dress up for football game Saturday because it is an event. Something other parts of the country fail to understand. LSU fans take it to a new level. A purple and gold elvis? Get out of here.

2. They have some of the best pranks. Remember when LSU fans were getting the phone number of the better players on opposing teams and calling them during game week (Tebow, Moreno, etc.)

3. No one tailgates like the cajuns of bayou bengals of LSU. We all tailgate, it's just that the quality of food at a LSU tailgate is at another level. In fact, I am quite sure many UGA tailgaters are steeping up their menu this week just to stay competitive.

As a side not I worked at the UGA police for about 15 years and during this time we got to see just about every bit of craziness imaginable. I didn't think anyone could drink more than the Tennessee fans then LSU came to town. They brought their carravan of motorhomes and the craziness that followed. Everyone that I spoke with was hospitable and nice, but that was just a facade to throw us off the trail. The night before the game somehow some LSU fans got on the Sanford Stadium field in spite of the field alarm and active stadium patrol and wrote LSU on about the 20 yard line. Crazy Cajuns.

For me college football is about fun and passionate fun. Taking it serious without being Harvey Updike serious. LSU fans seem to understand this and display it more than just about any other fanbase. Good luck Saturday, just not too much luck.
