Thanks for that. Helpful. I was hoping to get out a scout a spot and learn the area but life got in the way. Any knowledge on just camping out there? Dispersed? or does it have to be in designated sites?

EDIT: didn't see above replies - thanks

Kisatchie Deer Hunting Guidance.

Hi there, New hunter. first season last year. Lucky me had a friend with nice private land and was kind enough to bring me along. Lucky me even shot a doe. I don't like to rely on others generosity and hoping to get a few days in on public land. I have camped in Kisatchie but have questions hunting and the website leaves me scratching my head a bit. Particularly looking at Evangeline Unit. Disperse camping legal? as I in I can drive down one of those dirt roads, find a spot and hike in for a sit and hunt? Park along road and hike in? Thanks. Intimidating to get started and don't know anyone whose hunted it or public land. Planning on giving NF a call, but wanted to hear from any voices of experience.

If the OT lounge could see the things I’ve seen with COVID it would be veryyyyy different. All I can say is get your shot and cross your fingers. I’m nervous again.

Louisiana legalization?

Odds our backwards state goes forward with the recreational mj legalization? Thoughts? Valid arguments against after seeing success other states having? I don’t smoke myself but scares me a lot less than the prescription drugs I see so many on.
Kinda looking to get out in the woods and shoot on my own. I don't know legality issues of that.
Any public land where I could just go out on for free?
I know about the place across the river in Avondale, but I would like to find just some land I could go out and throw my own with some friends. Does such a place exist? ideas? Thanks
