SEC Head Coach Linked To Kansas State After Jerome Tang’s Departure

Following Kansas State's decision to fire head coach Jerome Tang on Sunday, Kevin Sweeney of SI.com compiled a list of coaches who could be candidates for the Wildcats job.
One of those names was Mississippi State head coach Chris Jans:
The Bulldogs are just 12-13 (4-8 SEC) this season.

quote:Jans has compiled a 75-53 record over the past four seasons at Mississippi State and has made the NCAA Tournament the last three years.
Chris Jans, Mississippi State:
Pulling a sitting high-major coach won’t be easy, but Jans might be a realistic target coming from perhaps the toughest job in the SEC at Mississippi State. Jans has won everywhere he has worked, will leave no stone unturned for talent and has ties to the state from being an assistant under Gregg Marshall at Wichita State.
