Texas is reportedly hiring longtime defensive back coach Duane Akina to join Steve Sarkisian's staff.
Akina returns to Austin, where he was on the Longhorns staff from 2001 to 2013, working in various roles with the defensive backs.
He was Arizona's defensive coordinator last season and an analyst with the Wildcats in 2023. Before that, Akina was the DB coach at Stanford from 2014 to 2022.
