Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian told reporters on Monday that his QB Arch Manning likes to trash-talk with Longhorns teammates...
quote:

“I think the team responds really well to Arch,” Sarkisian said. “You know, I think Arch loves football. He loves to practice. He loves to work, and it’s funny because Arch probably talks a little more (expletive) than people give him credit for outside of our building. So in practice, there’s a good amount of banter that goes on, and now Arch has more confidence. He gives a little more of that banter. He gives a little more of that banter back.”
Sarkisian cited an example of Manning and Texas defensive end Colin Simmons playfully exchanging words during a practice...
quote:

“He and Colin were getting into it today about a screen play, and it was all out of fun,” Sarkisian recalled. “It’s nothing out of, like, negative. It’s out of fun, but you can see that they’re loving practice. They’re loving to practice, and I think that starts when your quarterback loves practice, when he’s having fun being out there, and you can feel those guys responding that way.”

Am I the only one that thinks, whenever I read articles that mention Arch Manning, that I have no personal ill will towards the young man, but would enjoy seeing him fold like a cheap umbrella?

He may be a nice kid and all, but his production/talent sure the frick doesn't support the ego and hype.

He put up over 3,000 yards last year with more than a 3-to-1 TD-to-INT ratio, and he had 400 yards on the ground, too. I have no idea WITF you're even complaining about, because if he only slightly improves on those numbers then he should easily cruise to the Heisman ceremony.

He did absolutely nothing against Ohio State or UGA and didn't do anything against Florida until the game was already over.

Then he went to OT with Kentucky and MS State...

But yeah, keep telling yourself he's elite.

This year's schedule is not the creampuff schedule of last year. They had 3 ranked teams in the regular season. Now, we find out who came to play ball.

I hope he talks trash to David Stone. We'll see how that works out.
