YouTube Travel Vlogs Experience

Has anyone ever put together a YouTube travel vlog? Let's say between 15-20 minute vlog? How difficult is to edit video to get it down to 15-20 minutes to keep the viewer's interest? How much time would you expect someone to spend in order to get the videos down to 15-20 minutes?
Giving some thought to retirement and moving onto fulltime travel and posting a travel video every few days to YouTube to generate some revenue to offset the cost of the travel.

Not me but friends of mine have and they have over 500K subscribers on YouTube. They travel the country in their Airstream trailer and post their experiences in various locations throughout the US. The editing is very polished and they have monetized it to the point where they do it full-time (subsidized by merchandise sales and cookbooks). They are truly living the dream and I will be joining them shortly.

Unless you are very serious about it, there's so many out there that you'll need to find a niche to make any money. Travel is not an easy segment to enter. A huge pair of tits and moral flexibility seems to help a lot of them also, not that I'm complaining.
