Weekend trip to charlotte or Denver

Live near Shreveport, and they offer direct flights to these two cities. Have some airline points to blow, and don’t want layovers, so these are the two options. Recommendations on which one would be better for people who have been to one or both? I haven’t been to either city.
We would fly in Thursday night, spend two days and come home Sunday. Not looking to rage or go clubbing etc, just some sight seeing, eat at different restaurants, etc.

Denver is beautiful. Downtown you have the US mint, state capitol (with 1 mile above sea level marked on one of the steps) and you might catch the Rockies in town. If you rent a car it's a short drive to Golden and Boulder which are both nice in their own right. Weed is 100% legal and you will smell it out in public most places that you go.
Charlotte is nice. If you are a NASCAR fan the hall of fame is downtown and well done. A short drive up to/around Concord puts you by most of the major team shops. Also a short drive to King's Mountain and a couple of other Revolutionary War sites.

If we go to Denver, definitely planning around a Rockies game.
