Question came to mind after question about pre-TSA.

I have been a member of both forever it seems, but with Clear I cannot remember a single time I have been able to go through and not have to go from eyes to fingers and even sometimes thumbs.

Anyone with Clear has found the secret to getting through using just one identifier?

I have read about this being a problem. I'm curious at responses and how much time switching identifiers causes because I'm considering signing up.

I’ve found that the eyes work if you’re close enough. The CLEAR employees try to set you at a distance that doesn’t seem to work. Edge a little closer and should be good to go.

I usually only need eyes. Think one time at MCO I had to do fingers. Don’t think I’ve ever had an issue at MSY.

Never had issues with me or my wife needing to use anything but eyes

Thanks for the suggestion, I will try to get closer despite what the Clear folks say. I have tried opening my eyes wide and that has not helped.

Is clear worth it if you aren’t constantly flying out of major hubs? Precheck does the trick in the smaller regional airports ( aex, btr, lft etc)

Clear only operates with Delta and United, right? For example, flying out of DFW you only have Clear at one of the five terminals, Terminal E. Love Field has Clear as well but there's only one security checkpoint. I say all of that because it's unlikely smaller regional airports have Clear but I could be wrong. Here's the LINK for locations

I've only had to do the fingerprint once and it was my last flight out of DFW. Other than that, only eyes has done it for me.
