US Virgin Islands - Honey Moon

The lady just found flights that are $100 round trip so we booked it for our honey moon in March. We booked one to St. Thomas and one to St. Croix and will cancel whichever island we end up not going to.
We've been waffling on where we want to honey moon. I just want an all inclusive so I can hang on the beach for 7 days straight drinking beverages. The lady is into resorts that have more activities and a good spa.
Any recs on where to stay? Should we nix the idea and just go somewhere else in the Carribean?

A quick look at Google Flights shows roundtrips to St. Croix for $70 from on the nonstop from MIA and, for us Louisiana folks, from $113 from MSY.
Those are Basic Economy fares on American Airlines.

We booked on American.

You'll get much better experience in the USVI by NOT doing an all-inclusive resort.
What I would do is to stay at Grande Bay, Gallows Point or the Westin on St. John. From Grande Bay and Gallows Point you can walk to anything in Cruz Bay and take advantage of the many beautiful beaches on St. John.
However, there's another great option. Rent a catamaran with a captain and cook and sail the BVI. You'll be on a different island every day. The Moorings would be a good place to start for pricing.
If you are set on more of an all-inclusive type resort I would fly into St. Thomas and ferry over to Tortola then go to Peter Island. Resort with a spa and plenty of activities. Be forewarned it is not cheap and it is very British (not that there's anything wrong with that).

I am with the OP on this even though it is unpopular on the Travel Board. I like an all-inclusive solely for the relaxation factor. I don't go on vacation to do tours, adventure stuff or play sports. I go because I haven't had a vacation in two years and I want to lay on a beach and have a guy put drinks in my hand every time I stick it out.
For that reason, I want an all-inclusive. I just want to pay one price and chill. Nothing wrong with other types of travel but sometimes you don't want to deal with all that.

I understand that. The problem is that the USVI isn't really geared much towards all-inclusve resorts and they are still recovering from Irma which further limits choices.

Budget? Those places down there are all over the realm of prices.
ETA: We loved St. Kitts and Nevis is a short boat ride away. The Marriott on St. Kitts has an all-inclusive plan and there are a ton of activities on the island. Even hiking up to a volcano if you so choose.
Nevis has a Four Seasons that has all-inclusive and Nevis is a fantastic little island. It's where the royal family used to visit a lot.
There are tons of all-inclusives spread around the Caribbean but these two islands take you off the beaten path a little.
Palm Island Resort in St. Vincent and the Grenadines is supposed to be phenomenal but will be a much longer travel day to get to. You have to fly through Barbados to get there.

Glad to help. Let me know if you end up going to St. Kitts. I can fill you in on things to do, restaurants that are must eats, etc. A day trip to Nevis should be in the plans as it is a jewel.

Went to St. Kitts in 2019 and stayed at the Marriott. Enjoyable, walked a ton in that area, always during the day and always felt safe. When we were there the beach was pretty much unusable due to seaweed, and I mean a ton of seaweed. But we enjoyed the vacation and would go back.

Yeah, sargassum is hit or miss on the islands and the last few years they have had many strong storms that stirred it up.
You're right about the safelt of the island. We drove all over, ate where the locals ate and always felt welcome. It's also a very clean island as the locals have a lot of pride in their properties.

Marriott just informed me I can't use my points to pay for an all inclusive package. They weren't even sure why just that the "system" wouldn't take the reservation. Back to the drawing board. I have to look up the seaweed thing as someone else mentioned. First thing a buddy of mine said when I mentioned the island. I think it is seasonal?

Depends on which side of the island you're on as well. Generally they have a crew that cleans the beaches in the mornings at most places I've been if it's an issue.
Sucks about not being able to use points for AI. Will they let you use points for the resort and prepay the AI part?
