I believe the renaissance is built into the outfield of the stadium

We stayed at the Delta Hotel last year and went to a Jays game. It was perfect! Great hotel. You can literally walk one block and your to the Rogers Centre...which is also right next to the CN Tower and aquarium. So convenient and the restaurant at the top of the tower was excellent with incredible views.

Stayed at town inn and suites down church st with my gf over the summer. It was a really nice place. It was kinda sketchy getting to the hotel at night and it's a bit away from the stadium but you can do the city tour thing which is actually a really good deal imo.

That one Delta is a super nice hotel and part of the Marriott Family. It's kind of funny b/c that Delta is like 3 times nicer than any other Delta since it's their pride and joy / flagship and they're HQ'd in Toronto.

Do NOT stay in the cheapish Doubletree downtown - it's right in the middle of government housing and right across the street from the Islamic Center of Toronto. The entire block is filthy and you get glared at nonstop by the residents

Hotel Le Germain Maple Leaf Square and Hotel Le Germain are great hotels in the city. Maple Leaf just opened up but I think the location of the original one is better for you.

2 fantastic restaurants in the downtown area are Oretta and Baro.

Oretta ia an Italian place on King West. The architecture is amazing. Mortadella and pistachio pizza, tagliatelle, and lamb are all on the menu.

Baro is a Latin style restaurant with a speakeasy vibe. Lots of small plates like ceviche flights, and tons of enhanced bar finger food like empanadas and guacamole.

I've stayed at the Hilton and the Sheraton before for work. Both very easy walks to the park. If you're looking for a nice restaurant I can't help but if you're just looking for a sports bar to kill time before the game go to real sports. Tv's everywhere and those maple bacon mustard wings are awesome.

Might not be 4 star, but Marriott Eaton Centre is a good location. The Novotel is not bad, either, just not as good of a location IMO. I really enjoyed Blowfish for Japanese. I think the one I went to on Bay Street is now called Katana (but basically the same restaurant) and there is another Blowfish on King.
