Not sure "nicest" and "ritziest" always synch. That implies crowds, big money developments, golf courses etc.
Either way, if the goal is nice beaches, authentic atmosphere, non "spring break" kind of locations, my vote based on where I've been would be:
Palm Beach, FL
Naples, FL
Jupiter Island, FL
Alys Beach, FL
Kiawah Island, SC / Sea Island, GA
HOWEVER..
if you want nice beaches, laid back atmosphere etc., my vote would be the areas around:
Rosemary Beach FL
Cape San Blas, FL
Boca Grande, FL
And the "Shhhhhhh...... Part"!
Cape San Blas FL. Beautiful beaches, great rentals, super laid-back, and it still doesn’t feel overdeveloped.

Yeah, to be more thorough you really need a Top 5 from Florida AND non-Florida

Correct. In fact, just south Florida is its own category. None of the top 5 would even be outside the Greater Miami Metropolitan area.

I agree. Of the three beach towns you mentioned, I’d say that Alys Beach is the “ritziest.” Seaside and Rosemary Beach, while still being what I’d consider upscale, are both very much family-centric. I’ve never stayed in Alys Beach, but I’ve visited, and I don’t get that same vibe there. Seaside feels like a beach town more so than the others.

Maybe my measuring stick is way off, but I was in Fairhope Alabama last year and I found it to be very nice, almost like a San Diego of the south. The town is beautiful, the grass was super green, lots of beautiful flowers were blooming, it looked like a small Disney park.
