I’ve never once flown Southwest. I can’t even begin to process that open seating concept.
It honestly wasn't bad in the mid to late 2010's if you had status.
You'd get on somewhere around 10th-20th, depending on how many biz tickets were sold and easily get an aisle or window in the first 3-4 rows.
Its become an absolute cluster covid/post with everyone and their mom gaming the system and claiming they need extra time to board just to take the front of the plane.

Just flew to Jamaica , with connections each way.
As long as you pay for early bird, you should get the A group and you will be fine.
Actually got B7/8 out of New Orleans on way there, it still plenty of room and over head space.
Not sure what all the fuss is about..

For those that travel every so often, its not a big deal... outside of paying for bags now.
For those that are regular travelers the jury will be out, however, as in my case, the train has left the station... Too much bullshite over last few years for me to stay with them. United now has my loyalty and money.

That’s fair. I travel 3/4 times per year for business and usually once personal..
I just shop lowest rates tbh

I'm on about 70-80 flights a year, so I have expectations.

Damn I would hate that. Older I get the more I appreciate my own bed.
