Hope everyone had a nice christmas and new years. Just got an email that jetblue is having a sale and when I looked further, it's better than I anticipated. Even american has some good deals, southwest has a great deal up to DC. I'll post some of the deals I've found below, if anyone has questions or requests please let me know

New Orleans to:

Boston: $137 nonstop on Jetblue, $97 on spirit. Would definitely choose jetblue for this, free snacks and wifi, tvs, and good legroom. This deal goes to the end of February, but for March the ticket only jumps up to $89 for a one-way, still very good. Abita if you read this your dates in March have a cheapish one-way on southwest down here that friday for $182, then you could book a one-way back on spirit through BWI on the 25th for $169. Total would be $351

Ft. Lauderdale: $87 on Jetblue, $81 on spirit, and $90 on american. Now through the end of february. If any of you AA travelers need a good mileage run this would be it: can book MSY-DFW-FLL-CLT-DFW-MSY for $99/5 segments.

Dallas: $79 on American, $96 on United, $110 on Southwest. Cheapest dates are for this month, price jumps up to $96 in February.

Denver: $108 on Frontier, $112 on southwest, $120 on American, $170 on united. Not sure why AA is so cheap on this, but this goes through March. You may need to book two one-ways to get the best deal i.e. fly there on southwest, back on american.

Los Angeles: $100 on Spirit. Normally don't include spirit but this is too cheap to pass up.

Las Vegas: $139 on United, $161 on Spirit. This deal runs through April, most days are tuesdays-thursdays. The cheapest on united goes from new orleans to newark, nj to LAS . Any united people need a decent mileage run? LINK

Chicago: $90 on southwest or united. The deal is good through the first week of february so get your heavy winter coats out and head up to the freezing tundra for a few days!

Baltimore/DC: $166 on jetblue, southwest, or spirit. Would definitely book this now if you are planning on visiting DC between now and the end of May. Southwest has great availability, mostly Mondays/Tues/Wed and Sats. Can easily take a weekend trip.

Tampa: $100 on spirit, $124 on southwest, $144 on delta. Good through the end of april on southwest

Orlando: $57 on frontier, $87 on spirit, $108 on southwest. That $108 on southwest has very limited availability, most prices are for tuesdays/wednesdays only. The deal goes through the end of april

Miami: $67 on American. Cheapest dates are tuesdays, otherwise it increases to $79. Goes through the end of march

Kauai: $611 on United, $651 on Delta, AA or Alaska. Deal is good now through the end of May so if you're planning travel for the spring here you go.

St. Louis: $114 on American. Mostly Tuesdays/Wednesdays now through the middle of march.

Providence, RI: $57 on Frontier. Only for January and February, Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Minneapolis: $100 on spirit. Now through the middle of february, looks like mondays, wednesdays or saturdays

This is what I needed. Appreciate it.

Been trying out how to maximize my $1800 in AA credits.

Hawaii looks very good on AA... You could use it for a roundtrip and still have about $500 leftover. The prices are good in leaving from Baton Rouge, Gulfport, or Lafayette as well if you're closer to any of those than MSY

ETA: Something like this in April or May

Sweet. Trying to figure out the cheapest time to go so I can get 1st class one of the ways. Preferably on the way home.

The last date for the cheap fares is May 31st. I know you said you wanted to go mid june, but the price goes up to $1108 for a one-way 1st class fare.
You'd want something like below:

MSY-Lihue:
Depart Tuesday May 22 for $330/person in economy
Return Wednesday May 30 for $851/person in First

Total would be $1181/person, for 2 it's $2362

Depart
Return

Nice. Is it possible to fly out the 21st instead for the same-ish price?

What’s the best way to search for cheap flights if you know the destination but the departure city is flexible? Meaning, I know I need to be in Houston on a certain date but can chose to fly out of several cities in Europe

Hmm, skyscanner is normally pretty good if you know the departure airport but need to find a destination. I just tried to do it the other way but not having much luck. I usually just play around on the google flights map and try a bunch of different cities. Takes some time but that's what normally gives me the best result. For your case, you might just want to try LHR, TXL, MAD, DUB, CDG, FRA, DUS, ZRH, CPH to IAH and see what shows up since your dates are set

Enjoyed your last trip there plus the few extra days? You could hope for the same type of situation happening again this May

That’s what I have been doing. I know I’ll be around the Iberian Penisula so I don’t have a huge region to search. Lisbon is looking good but was hoping to be closer to France during departure. Thanks

I need flights to Dublin for a wedding on June 23. Basically any 5-7 days that include the 23rd. Out of MSY or BTR

Kauai is probably the best place I've been to.

So far there is nothing good, $922 is the cheapest I see and that includes an overnight in NYC. Usually when a europe sale appears someone on here or myself lets the board know, you still got time so would not worry about the high prices yet

Can you recommend my best options for flying to Berlin out of MSY in July? Looking to leave July 11th and return July 24 or 25th. Is it too early or should I be booking now? On Google flights it looks like right at $1000 is as good as I can hope for. The flights there really eat up our time because it is multiple stops and the time zones are working against us. I wish there was something direct, or with only one stop, out of MSY. Maybe there is but those are way down the list because of price.

Definitely too early. You and tigershark need to wait for the europe sales, there are usually a few in the spring for summer. A one-stop to berlin is very likely, however you need the airlines to set their summer schedules which they will likely do in a month or two. Until then, just keep an eye for a sale and if something shows up for under $800 I'd probably book considering you're going during peak summer season
