Headed to Stavanger, Norway at the end of the week for work. Just looking for general tips and things to do. I'll be there for a week. TIA.

I was there for a day on my cruise this summer and took the Preikestolen Express bus to for the hike to Pulpit Rock. Of course, it ended up rainy and foggy, and I didn't get the postcard views I would've liked, but the hike was still nice.

I arrived in Stavanger Sunday. Bring your rain jacket! Flew to Bergen today for meeting this afternoon and another in the morning. Back to Stavanger tomorrow afternoon.
You can spend a day walking around and checking out shops in the old part of Stavanger behind the Skagen Brygge hotel. They are in the holiday/Christmas spirit already. Oil museum is kind of interesting if you have never been.. same area on the water. There are some cool fjords not far away but you will need to rent a car.
If you have time and can do it… go to Bergen and spend the night. $357 round trip for a 30 minute flight. A little more to do here. Setting on the small harbor is awesome. Like a postcard.
Both places have good food, bars, etc…. Not full of stuff to do.

I've heard it rains pretty much everyday, so not looking forward to that. Thanks everyone for the tips

I was there in May. Neat little town. The Petroleum Museum was pretty interesting.
