Should run about 10k per couple

Website shows Frenchman's Reef Marriott still closed unless I’m missing something

Sorry about that. I presumed it would be open by now.

Jost is the best. Hopefully it's fully open on your next trip. White Bay is an all day beach party every day with a different group of people. We love staying there.
100% truth! A LOT more fun without kids, though.

My kids are 31 and 27 so now it's a lot more fun with them there.

Recommend a place to stay on St Thomas for one night before boarding catamaran for a week?

We are spending one night in St. Thomas before ferrying over to St. John for the week, and I booked a room at the Emerald Beach. From what I can tell, it's the closest hotel to the airport.

Did One Love survive the hurricane? I will go to my grave remembering the lobster I had there.

Yes it did. The only thing in danger on the beach is Ivan's. It took a lot of damage and Ivan was in poor health after Irma. The scuttlebutt is that his kids ran it into the ground. Hopefully things have turned around. I had heard that Kenny Chesney got involved in helping. Everything else you know on White Bay is still there. Sadly, the cruise ships have banded together and built a place for cruisers at the far end of White Bay. Hopefully they pay to go to that place and leave the rest of White Bay alone but that's probably wishful thinking.

Chesney has done a ton for the islands after Irma. I know that he paid to have the dock rebuilt at Great Harbor where you check in with immigration.

Foxy's fed the island for three months after Irma as it was one of the few fully functioning kitchens left on the island. Abe's took a ton of damage but we did eat there in 2019. At that point their dock hadn't been rebuilt so I'm not sure if the cats could get in or if it was drive in traffic only. Foxy's Taboo on the east end of the island had been completely rebuilt b y 2019. However, the rumor there is that his health is starting to fail and that the greed of his family is starting.

We haven’t customized yet but this is the sample they sent

Does this come with a Captain or anything or are you driving the boat? What is a ballpark on a trip like this, I've always wanted to do it.

He said 10k a couple so I'm presuming he has a captain (and maybe a cook) and that he's going in high season unless he got a really big catamaran. In low season you can usually get one for about $10k for a week or so with no captain.

The Moorings

This one is a little under $20k including a captain and chef for a week in July. Of course, flights and provisions add to the cost.

Good to hear about all the iconic places surviving. We ate at Foxy's, messed around there for a while, and went around to White Bay. I wondered down the beach to One Love and saw a waitress bringing out a huge tray of lobster tails, beans & rice, etc. Even though I had just ate, I had to get some off that. It was awesome. Monday, I asked a charter boat captain about going to Jost. That's when I found out they were locked down. He said a lot of new stuff has sprung up on St. Thomas and St. John due to that. He didn't go into detail.

We decided it would be easier to stay on St Thomas for us but we are staying on the east end next to Coki Beach in the Margaritaville resort. We do plan to spend a day on St. John though, probably one of the days a cruise ship will be in port.
Would a basic 4 door sedan be sufficient for St John? We plan to go to Cruz Bay and Soend most of the day in Trunk Bay.

If that's what you are doing you don't need a car. Everything in Cruz Bay is walkable and Trunk Bay is a short bus or cab ride away.

I agree with VABuckeye, you don't need a car for a day trip especially the type of day trip that you're planning. You can catch a taxi from Cruz Bay to Trunk Bay. They were constantly running and are very easy to get on and off. You can rent all of your beach gear at Trunk Bay instead of having to pack it all around when you are walking around Cruz Bay. Trunk Bay even has a little food pavilion for food and drink. My only advice is to get to Trunk Bay as early as you can because it did get pretty crowded. When we were there last week, they started letting people in at 8:30 AM. We left around noon because of the crowd. I believe it was $5.00/person to get in. Here's a link to more information about the taxi situation.

Would you recommend White Bay Villas for a honeymoon trip?

Fiancé and I have St Lucia high on the list - looking at Ladera and Jade Mountain. Did some brief research this morning and we could do 5 nights on Jost for less and it looks incredible. Looking at early November of this year.

White Bay Villas are great. They're on the hill between Great Harbor and White Bay with a view of White Bay. November is a great time of the year to go there. You can rent a jeep on the island to tool around. The road up to White Bay villas is tricky so I'd ask for a cottage that's a little easier for parking. We've stayed there a couple of times.
