yeah, the Que in the Lou Try any goods? Some really good BBQ establishments down there. Some that put KC,Texas, etc to shame. Did you go up to the 360 bar/eatery across from BPV? Some great views and it's really a cool place to get a beer.

I ate Salt Lick Brisket, love that place. Memphis BBQ company ribs and Pappys sausage.

I am staying in the Hilton with the 360, it is really neat.

Cunnetto House of Pasta on The Hill is one of my favorite Italian anywhere. St Louis City Museum is really interesting, if you have younger kids that would probably love it. St Louis zoo is free, but you have to pay to park. If I remember it's $20 per vehicle. I love to park at Union Station and ride tram into Cardinals baseball games. I am a huge baseball fan though and love going to any MLB park for a game.

City Museum is a frickin blast if you like climbing on things and crawling through tight quarters. Stay away from the 10 story slide, I had a wedgie for 8 stories, almost turned atomic somewhere near the bottom lol.

The ride to the top of the arch is something else.

Missouri History Museum, Civil War Museum, and Jefferson Barracks are all fun places to visit. Look them up online.

For food it is hard to go wrong on "The Hill." There are tons of good Italian places there. Also, Tony's is downtown and widely recognized as St. Louis' best. For what you get the food is pretty reasonable.

Thanks for all the recommendations. The City Museum, Cathedral Basillica, 360 bar, and Zoo are absolute musts on our list.

Should we really ride up the arch? Much like the London Eye, I assumed that was something we'd just skip and admire from ground level.

Is the drive out to St. Charles, MO worth it? The pictures make it look like a nice, quaint town.

eh? they have a couple of casinos near them, and they have a couple of brewery's that have decent grub. Trailhead is one of the places.

It's nothing special, you would be better driving 19ish minutes south to Grants Farm.

I would, it's a really neat ride. Tiny elevator/train/Ferris wheel. It's crazy.

Not one mention of the City Museum in this thread, the most unique place to visit compared not only to St. Louis attractions but ANY attraction.

Thread not legit.

Finally home from my adventure, will try to post a few pics tomorrow. I was completely impressed by St Louis. I had a massive negative bias of the place when I really knew nothing about it. I had a blast in the city and y'all really do have a nice place. The one negative is you decided to redo way too much stuff at the same time. Too much construction going on in the city at once, but I will be back to see it done.

Guess you are illiterate because it's been mentioned several times, I even went to it and reported back while this thread was going on.

But at least the east side got a mention. That should be must for anyone visiting STL for the first time. Just know that you'll be leaving there smelling like body spray and broken dreams...

Here is some of the pics I took.

Stayed in the Hilton Ballpark, room was outdated, hotel was old though, but I had a very large room and an ok view.

Went down and walked around for awhile and saw a few things.

Had a big party with friends the first night in Ballpark Village

Walked around for awhile saturday downtown for an event. Had some BBQ at the Q in the Lou.

Went for drinks at Morgan Street Brewery this night, didn't get pics and had too much to drink.

Next day was an earlier morning of more exploring

Somewhere in the Park with the Zoo

Zoo

Went rode the Arch

City Museum

Ten Story Slide that will give you an epic wedgie in City Museum

Ended the day with drinks and food in the 360 bar on top the Hilton Ballpark hotel

This wasn't really a food trip, so I didn't get to explore restaurants like I wanted to do. This was for an event that required lots of walking and exploring. So I spent most of the time walking around downtown. Hit about 35 miles walking from Friday to Monday. Didn't get any pics of Union Station or a lot of places I forgot to bring up the camera, but I had other things going on.

Nice. Looks like I won't have time to do City Museum. I get in at 3pm on a Monday and locked up til 4pm Tuesday through Thursday. Figured I might rush down to the arch after I land so I can at least do that with the short hours.

Staying at the Chase Park Plaza so open for food/bar tips. I prefer my bars to have a little soul. Doesn't have to be a dive though, which I'm not against.

Little bump here.

Got my Arch tickets for tomorrow at 5pm, so I can squeeze that in.

I think my lunches are going to be kind of out of my control, but for dinner I have this set out. Again I'm staying at Chase Park Plaza. Let me know if I should change nights of my dinner spots for best atmosphere or ease. Didn't want to pick something too extravagant since it's paid by the company and 2) I'm by myself.

Monday night - BBQ Saloon - the other famous places are going to be a pain in the arse. This seemed like a good compromise.

Tuesday Night - Cunetto's. Someone mentioned it in this post for good Italian and seemed better than what I can get in my neighborhood.

Wednesday Night - Dressel's Public House. Figured Wednesday is a good pub dinner night.

Haven't planned out a beer here or there. I might just walk around in and out of places.

Thoughts?

Not a St Louis expert, but I feel like you could do better than Cunetto's. The Hill is full of old school Italian places that don't really exist in Louisiana.

Brasserie by niche is pretty legit and in CWE. Not sure if that's your thing, though.
