Heading to Six Flags in the DFW area. Please provide some suggestions for hotels and eateries.
Any hotels with amenities for Six Flags - such as shuttle service, etc.?
Thank you.

We stayed in the LaQuinta which is right across the street from Six Flaggs. Had a pretty good breakfast. I didn't mind the LaQuinta but I'm not a hotel snob. If you want something classier, there's the Loews Hotel that's right next to Globe Life Field. The Sheraton is a pretty nice hotel as well. There's a lot of hotels to choose from right there in the area including right on the north side of I-30. I chose the LaQuinta because of the close proximity to Six Flaggs, I didn't want to have to drive and park and I didn't want to wait on a shuttle, taxi or uber.
As far a food is concerned, just like hotels, there's a ton of choices right there. Nothing real fancy just the run of the mill pizza, mexican, burger joints. If you're bringing kids, I'd say in the 8-13 year old range and you don't mind driving, take them to the Magic Time Machine, it's in North Dallas, not too far north of the Galleria. The staff dress as comic book, movie and TV characters and do funny stuff. It's been a while since I've been there but when we went, it was a good time.

quote:If you can swing the VIP passes, I recommend it. Did it with a group in April and it was like traveling with the queen. Would have been intolerable otherwise.

Big Scrub, I am totally ignorant. What are the VIP passes?
Thanks!

quote:They're even more hardcore than the normal "express passes" or whatever. And they only sell a small batch per day. We had a group of 8, and with that, came TWO valets. Not only did they help us cut to the front of every line (including restaurants) but they also held all of our stuff. The package comes with food and drink, so they would constantly refill our beverages (and hold them).

When I say you cut to the front, I mean they literally walk the group to the top of the exit ramp and pull the operator aside. The operator then basically makes his top priority getting your VIP group on the ride ASAP - including the front seat of the best roller coasters.
I think the Texas Giant might have had a 2 hour line - and we'd be on and off in like 7 minutes. And there's no limit like with some of the express passes. Nor are there specific times you have to be anywhere.
It was by far the most entitled like royalty I ever felt. You even cut in front of the express pass people.
