Another vote for the Osprey backpack. I have an Osprey 40 I travel for 3 weeks with and I have room to bring back stuff I buy over there. But I pack very light. My wife uses a backpack too.

Exactly, definitely would fit but not in the traditional sense.

I need to get a little lighter. We'll see on my next trip if it's me or the fact I sometimes squeeze my wife's stuff in my bag is the real problem. Since it's going to be Asia there isn't much need to dress up.

2 pair of pants + what I wear on the plane.
3 shirts
4 underwear and socks
rain jacket
light jacket I wear on the plane.
my running shoes which I usually end up not running but they are good as a backup pair of walking around shoes.
