Just got through security. TWIC card was not scanned, they just used a magnifying glass to verify the security measures in the card. They also had me scan my boarding pass which I never have done before at PDX with my Real ID.

The whole process was just as quick if they scanned my Real ID.

I have a passport, not getting a real ID until I need my driver's license renewed. Not remotely worth making a special trip for something I have no need for.

I appreciate the update, I may still go get my Real ID. I am just not sure I trust the TSA workers at MSY to have been trained well enough to know that the TWIC is accepted.

Louisiana legislators waited until the last minute to make the needed changes so Louisiana could issue a Real ID compliant license. My guess is they were fishing for vendor kickbacks or some other way to personally enrich themselves.

ETA Louisiana is one of the few states that will NOT let you obtain this online (even though driver’s licenses can be renewed online), forcing you to deal with the incompetent and surly DMV staff, or get in the Que at an Express DMV office that is owned by some legislator.

Can someone confirm that Global Entry works, or should I just bring my passport?
