I have lived in Berlin for 19 months. I love it. It has been really hard to meet people outside of work. With the game next week does anyone have any suggestions on where to watch the LSU game? I'm in the Adlershof area but I can travel anywhere in the city if I need to. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

I don't live in Berlin, but I will be there (on vacation) the night of the title game. I'll be staying in city center. Curious to see if anyone has suggestions, was hoping there would be a bar with some LSU fans to watch the game.

ETA: You might want to post this to the Tiger Rant, more people look at that board, although much less likely to get a serious answer

Yeah, I figured I would get a bunch of 'Germans' kid comments on the Rant. Kickoff will be at 2am local time. I don't know how the bar scene works. Will a bar that would have the game on stay open past 2am? I can tell you the local bar I pass by walking in to work is open but not a place you would watch an LSU game. If you find anything out please post. I've offered my co-workers to come to my place to watch it but it's hard to convince them to tear up their work sleep schedule for a sport that is not that important to them.

Just from searching around on Google, I've only found three sports bars that will be open crazy late (or 24hrs) on a Monday. Two bars called Salamas Bar and FC Magnet Bar says they are open until 5 AM on Monday. Another place called Sports Bar Berlin is open 24 hours. Looking at their websites/Facebook pages they all show NFL, but they don't really mention NCAA anywhere so it's tough to say if they will be even able to show the games.

I have no idea what network shows NCAA football in Germany, here in the UK I think BT and Sky split the broadcasting rights.

I’ll show them this at work tomorrow and ask about those bars. Maybe they can call them for me since they speak German much better than me. Believe me, it helps sometimes.

Off topic, but what do you do for work in Berlin?

I'm a software engineer. A side job that I was doing for a little over 10 years finally had an opportunity to really grow. I had spent time learning to speak, read, and write German after a work trip we had here in 2012. When the time came to open an European version of the company I was the only American that could physically move and speak the language. The computer skills were a very distant second. It's a whole lot more than that but there are people on this site that I am not friends with anymore who I don't want reading my personal business. All in all though I love living here.

This is how I watched the LSU Alabama game:

I've had luck meeting up with other fans on this board to find a random sports bar to watch the game in different cities. Cool experience!
You may have more luck in Berlin than I did living in rural Germany where only the Spielhall was open apst 11.

On the subject of international watch locations... I'm looking for a watch party in Hong Kong if anyone has an idea. Game is at 9:00am local time. Any tips welcome!

FYI, I emailed the Sports Bar yesterday that was suggested. I'll post if I hear back. I'll probably call them tomorrow.

Very cool man. Always had a desire to move to Germany for awhile. Kinda hard to be civil engineer in Germany though

I have to ask, you haven’t found a spot yet?
Have you watched other major sporting events since you have been there?
The game will be on at what, 2am Tuesday local time?
Will there be anyplace open at that time?

Find a way to stream it.

19 months is a long time. I’d have my go to sports bar in less than a month.

I have access to anything I want to watch at home with a big screen, bathroom, and whatever I need. They don’t do college sports here and barely any US sports. I’ve watched a Saints playoff game with locals. So, with all that being said, I’ll host a watch party tomorrow. I don’t know how to share my address privately but just hit me up at chris44gw @ gmail.com and I’ll email you back and you can watch the National Championship game at my place in Berlin. There are bars near too but they are pretty local for after we win.

Ok, so my coworker just got off the phone for me with the Sports Bar and they have the LSU game available. Swank spoke with me via gmail. We're deciding the bar or my place. Either is acceptable.

ETA
We're going to meet at the Sports Bar. If anyone else is interested I will be there around 12:45am with LSU clothes on.

Have you looked online or done any work as far as LSU club in Berlin? Too late now considering its game day, but a lot of big cities have a "college club" or whatever where alumni get together. Place to mingle and watch games with fellow alums. I would be surprised if there is not one for Berlin. Maybe just not many active members.

I just had this idea last week. Work has been crazy. Now that I have time I will look for more of these things.

FYI, some people have contacted me and are going so it won’t just be me.
