We usually go to Carmine's on W 44th before a show. Pro tip, walk up 8th Ave and miss the god forsaken Times Square crowds when in the area.

Got back yesterday. Saw Chicago and it was very good. We ate at carmines but it’s a shite ton of food. We didn’t have a fridge in the hotel so we wasted leftovers. We were at the W hotel in Times Square so we walked a lot. I have to say, I was very disappointed by a lot of food in NYC. Especially Baire and Sicily osteria. All their food needed salt. That being said, carmines, juniors cheesecake and sushi at flame were very good. Bfast at Friedmans in bottom of hotel Edison was good too with awesome coffee. Our driver to the airport recommended Rue 57 for steaks

I just got back and this was also my impression. The food was good, just seemed a little bland. Except for John’s of Bleeker St, that was the best pizza I’ve ever had. I could have eaten the crust plain with some olive oil.
We had cuban at Guantanmera before our show.
