I definitely wanna do a few hikes

Should I look them up before the trip or just wait till I’m there

I'd look them up before you go. There are a bunch of different options there, and it can be a bit overwhelming.

My two favorites were Cathedral Rock and Devil's Bridge. Cathedral Rock has a tricky section that you have to scramble up some rock, but it's not that difficult. And the trailhead is basically right across the street from the Arrabella.

Make sure to pay attention to what trailheads require Red Rock passes where you park.

You can also purchase them at the trailheads. No need to make an extra stop.

There are trailheads right by the Arabella. Open the door to your room, walk to the back of the parking lot, and you’re there!

They brought out an astronomer one night who had a high powered telescope. We were able to see Jupiter and all kinds of nebulas. If they offer that one night, check it out.

Parking was pretty limited at just about all the trails we hiked. Exception being the ones close enough to the house we stayed in to walk to. Speaking of, Secret Slickrock is a fun little hike. It hugs a cliff face overlooking Crescent Moon picnic area along Oak Creek, and if you're adventurous you can scramble down the cliff face to the park and take a dip in the creek. Probably too cold for that in March though.

That’s only if you have a 4x4 high clearance vehicle and can drive the road to the actual start of the trail.

If you don’t have a 4x4 high clearance vehicle and are parking in the lot before the dirt road and then walking the mile to the actual start of the trail you absolutely have to have a Red Rock Pass.

I’ve hiked Devil’s Bridge numerous times and have parked at both spots. When I didn’t have my Jeep and had to park at the paved lots I can remember signage stating Red Rock Passes were needed.

Eta: unless they have recently changed it. Either way...it’s a $5 pass that you can use at multiple spots or pay $20 to have for a year. Super easy to just buy at a gas station and then not worry if the automated machine at a trailhead is working or not.
