My gf and I are traveling to Prague in July and we are looking at going to Germany for a few days as well.

We aren’t looking to spend days looking at museums and castles (although some of that wouldn’t be a bad thing).

We’ve heard go to Munich and take the train to the Bavarian Alps (Garmisch Partenkirchen) or Frankfurt and do the Rhine River cruise and Rothenburg.

We are 30 years old and want to have the most bang for our buck fun for 2.5-3 days.

Thanks!!

Go to Budapest after Prague. Hit some ruins pubs and enjoy. Cheap train ride and super cheap city. Lots of fun to be had.

+1. Had always been on my bucket list but the views are indescribable.

OP, Munich is very nice but the people are pricks. Day trip to Dachau recommended also.

I have been to both. Between those two I will vote for Munich. We styed in Frankfurt on the 1st and last day of a vacation because we flew in and out of the airport. We enjoyed the city but we saw everything we needed to see in one day. We found Munich much more attractive. We stopped in Rothenburg while travelling between the two. My favorite city in that region is Vienna.

Been to Munich and liked it very much. I can also second another recommendation of Budapest. Either way you cannot go wrong.

+1 to above..

munich is a very livable city.. great place to spend a summer.

but if i were traveling from prague with a female...and had a few days....i'd hit budapest.

just park yourself on fashion street on the pest side and you wont be lacking of things to do.

Bavaria is where its at, so def Munich. If you have enough days, go down to either Garmisch or Neuschwanstein. I know u said no castles but that view from Marienbruckebridge cannot be beat.

Prague is awesome btw, so good choice.
