Most affordable Nashville suburb?

I’m looking into a relocation to the Nashville area. Work will be out of Fairview though. I’m looking around and was hoping to find a place that’s cheap for to start out and save some money.

"Cheap" and "Nashville" don't necessarily mix in the same sentence.
But..
Fairview is in the middle of nowhere, but it is Williamson County.
If you work in Fairview, you might try the Bellvue area. Up and coming. Not a bad drive down HWY 100 to get there. Maybe 20m or so depending on where. I would say for a 2BR 2 bath, you'd be looking at around $1,200 on up. 1BR maybe $1,000.
Franklin is wonderful, but that's pretty far and it's fairly expensive.
Good luck.

More like “affordable.” I’m hoping I can find a place that doesn’t break the bank and isn’t too far from everything.
I’ve actually been looking at Bellvue. It looks nice. So the cheapest I’d be looking at would be $1,000 a month huh?

That's where we'd look. My wife's a realtor and we did a quick scan, so those are "ball park" numbers. We have rentals in Franklin that aren't necessarily "all that" (2BR / 2 Baths) going for $1,000 per.
Bellevue is fairly close to amenities and downtown Nashville. Zillow for rentals is a good site.

Bellevue seems to have everything you’d need right there and easy access to downtown for all that it offers while still being a reasonable drive to Fairview. Is it a good community? Safe?

Anything between Nashville and Fairview is perfectly safe. Not sure where you are coming from, but Nashville is a pretty safe area all together imo.
As far as affordable, the closer to Fairview the cheaper you will be whereas the closer to Nashville the more expensive. So that's all up to you as far as what you want to spend and the location.

Nashville, overall, is very clean and safe. Great place to be. We've been here over 19 years and wouldn't move.
I use the "Crime Mapping" site all the time. Most agencies report to it:

Further into Nashville, there are a lot of "transitional" neighborhoods. Areas like "the Nations" (one of the hotter areas off Charlotte Pike) or "Wedgewood" (near the old Greer Stadium) used to be places you wouldn't put your toe in, but now, they're HOT. And EXPENSIVE.
Generally, some of the Northeast parts of Nashville are bad (like off of Dickerson Pike and Trinity Ln) or east of I-65 (like near Buchannan) or near the Napier projects (off of Lafayette). But you wouldn't be looking there anyway. Hell, 'ish happens down town every day, but I've never felt threatened even at night going to dinner or concerts. Very well policed and lit.
Bellevue is your spot for what you described unless you want to try living out in the middle of nowhere (which is fine and beautiful, just not as convenient).

Lavergne is south of town and was a great place to live when I was there, close to the lake.

I love the LaVergne/Smyrna area, but you wouldn't want to live there if you're working in Fairview...
