Four fraternity brothers (old men now, very little hi-jinxing left in us) attending the NCAA Men’s Final Four in Houston @ NRG Stadium.

We each have the package of tickets for all events, the actual games are Sat., April 1st & Mon., April 3rd.

Any recommendations on where to stay nearby? My first thought was the Intercontinental, but it is booked out already. Our budget is $250 and up per night. We’d like to be reasonably close to NRG (walking distance), none of us have any mobility issues so logistics and safety of walking at nighttime would be the limiting factor.

Thanks in advance!

Stay downtown and take the metro to NRG for the games.

That ^

Just wanted to say, I went to my first Final Four last year. If you haven't been (and you remotely like basketball), you're going to love it.

There are few things that have EXCEEDED my expectations in the "experience" realm - but I absolutely would do the Final Four again.

This will be my third Final Four, agreed on the charm of it.

Thanks for the recommendation on the Metro

You don't want to be walking distance from NRG. Stay downtown and take the train or an Uber. I'm sure the train will be packed because so many people will be doing this. But it's really the best way to access walkable hotels, restaurants, and bars.
