Have you ever driven on the left? It's an adjustment for sure. But, if you're up for the challenge, a car is a good way to get around, outside of big cities. I drove from LHR to Southampton, to Salisbury, to Stonehenge, to an Airbnb in Berkshire, all in one day, and that allowed me to do a lot more than I could've otherwise.
But trains and buses work fine, too.

I don’t think I’d have a problem driving. I’ve read it can be a hassle renting in London and dealing with traffic around there. Not sure if there are rental car places in the Cotswolds or if just getting on in London is fine.

We took a train to Moreton-on-Marsh and were picked up at the station by a tour guide. That tour is no longer in business. Train tip: sit in one of the first 3 cars. We sat in the second to last car and almost got left in Oxford. The train drops all but the first 3-4 cars. Luckily the conductor made a final check. We had to run and jump on the train.

Versailles is really cool, and quite easy, I think of it as more of a half day trip from Paris because it is really only 30 minutes outside of town.
If you want to see the Normandy beaches, it makes for a long day, but it is doable from Paris. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND using Overlord Tours, they were amazing. You take the early train from Gard de Nord and get to Bayeux around 9ish.

Also, depending on what you are doing in Paris, you may want to look at getting the museum pass. LINK
As for London, Stonehenge is probably overrated, but it is still Stonehenge, but Windsor is a really cool option. They have full day bus tours that take you to Bath/Stonehenge/Windor if I am not mistaken, which may be worth looking at.

Skip the Cotswolds unless you're planning to spend several days there.
Take my advice and visit Cambridge. It's only 50 minutes on the train from King's Cross. Plus, it's more pedestrian friendly than Oxford, and there's more to see. I know because I lived there for 8 years.
Cambridge started the scientific revolution, the Reformation, and the colonialists heritage that started USA.
