My wife and I are going to Curaçao in September. We've already booked our flights. We would like to find somewhere to stay with a private beach, easy access to Willemstad, and she prefers a bathtub. We probably will not stay at an all inclusive resort. Any recommendations?

check out some airbnb. check out the jan thiel area or mambo beach.

also I highly recommend getting a car and taking a day to drive around the island and hit alot of the beaches. great island to get out and about on. playa grandi in westpunt you can swim with the sea turtles. the snorkeling is awesome all around the island.

book a table one night at steak and ribs. make sure and get a table outside on the seawall overlooking willemstaad.

honestly the food everywhere is good alot of unique spots.

dont waste the trip by just sitting at a resort or not venturing out. the island is very safe. go on google maps and check out all of the beaches and make a trip around the island and hit alot of them.

We spent a week in Curacao at the end of May. I cannot recommend the Blue Bay Golf & Beach resort enough! We stayed in a condo at The Shore that I booked thru VRBO. It didn't have a bathtub but there may be other condos there that have one. Blue Bay has a variety of lodging options, from a boutique hotel to condos to garden homes. The Shore was one of the closest options to the beach - just a short path past the infinity pool. Blue Bay also had a couple of dining options, live music on the beach on Wed and Fri nights, a dive shop, and great snorkeling from their beach! It's also only about 15 minutes from the town of Willemsted.

As others mentioned, you'll definitely need a car. We rented from Just Drive Car Rentals bc the owner of our condo gave us a discount there.
The beaches on the northern side of the island are amazing. Every beach had chairs and umbrellas to rent for a small fee, bathrooms, cute outdoor restaurants, a dive shop, and tons of palm trees for shade.

I joined a Facebook group called The Curacao Visitors Forum that provided a wealth of info and restaurant recommendations. We loved the view from El Gaucho and had the best steaks at The Wine Cellar.
Hope you have a great trip!

not trying to be an arse but the northern side of the island is rocky coast and no beaches. I just dont want someone to read that and take off to the north side looking for beaches.

That's true! I guess I should clarify the northwestern side of the island - they were all north of where we stayed in Blue Bay. We loved Playa PortoMari, Grote Knip, Playa Kalki, and Cas Abou. The snorkeling was good at Playa Lagun but you probably only need about an hour there.
