I'm in LA regularly for work so I know the City pretty well. Sounds like they are trying to keep people from driving to events and will have a robust bus + lightrail system.
Although there is no redeeming value to downtown LA, there will be a transportation hub there, so I'm thinking about finding something there.
Sucks because one of my best friends lives in LA in the Valley and we could stay there for free, but it looks like it will be a nightmare to get to some of the events from there.
