It’s not the heat that is the problem, it is their lack of AC. AC to them is like a hot breeze and your room is 85 at night if they even have AC. So you get hot and stay hot. The shops mostly don’t have AC.

And even if your room has aircon it may be restricted as to how low you can set it

I've never had this problem at a Marriott portfolio hotel in Europe. I have had this problem at a few Accor hotels, though.
