Apparently they are really digging into their history as a gambling/gangster mecca proceeding Vegas. I think I saw that there's a gangster museum there now, and a couple of the old hotels lean into the history with rooms where guys like Capone stayed and bars that serve drinks from the era.

I stopped there for the night on a trip last year. I didn't have much time to look around, but the old downtown area seemed very active.
David's Burgers is a chain solely in AR. It's very good with all-you-can-eat fries. They have a Hot Springs location.

Hot Springs is a very cool town. It is beautiful there.
They have the old bath houses still in operation.
They do have some mafia related attractions, which is also very cool.
I recommend you stay at a place on one of the many lakes. There is a ton of golf, boat rentals, fishing, bike trails and a lot of other outdoor activities.
It is a very laid back, beautiful spot. No city or nightlife that I saw in the area, but a very cool spot for a relaxing vacation.
Been there 2-3 times. Wife and I both loved it.

My favorite activity in Hot Springs is horse racing at Oaklawn. Their season runs Dec-May though.
