Honeymoon Destinations

Will be planning a honeymoon for April '22 and was coming to the board advice on past experiences / suggestions on good places to go.
We are pretty much on board for doing something in the Caribbean or Central America, was thinking Belize if we went the Central America route. We have been to most of the major destinations in Mexico in the past, Cancun, Cozumel, Cabo. I would be open to doing the Pacific side of Mexico again as well since I have been, but the Fiance has not.
I am also on the fence about doing an all-inclusive type vacation vs. doing it all on our own. I do feel like you obviously pay more for the convenience alone on the all inclusive and may get a more watered down experience. I have done both in the past but am not sure what the best move would be for a honeymoon type vacation.
Any help or advice as to previous experiences, certain locations, resorts, etc. would be much appreciated. TIA.

I LOVE Puerto Vallarta on the Pacific (Hyatt Ziva is closest to the Zona Romantica).
My fave spots in the Caribbean are St. Thomas/St. John, Curaçao, and the DR in that order.
A buddy of mine really likes St. Croix. I hear great things about St. Kitts and St. Lucia.

Went to the Excellence in Punta Cana for ours. Stayed on the resort the whole time and really loved it. Beautiful water, great restaurants, and the shows at night were pretty enjoyable.

A lot depends on your budget? If it were my Honeymoon and money was no object, I would choose St Lucia and stay at Jade Mountain.

If you guys want to immerse yourself in the culture and local activities of wherever you go, I would suggest not doing all inclusive and find yourself a boutique hotel.
Check out Caye Caulker, Roatan, and Isla Mujeres.

I did 2 weeks in Belize for mine and wouldn't change a thing.
First week was in the southern tip that's very sparsly populated at Copal Tree Lodge. Amazing food (most of which is farmed on site), great drinks (from their on site distillery Copalli Rum), and even grew their own cacao and made chocolate on site. In the middle of the jungle. Was amazing. Howler monkeys all around all the time.
Second week we need beach peace so did Coco Plum Island. Tiny island with very few people. First class staff and a lot less stuffy that all inclusive I've been to in the past. You get to know everybody and I still talk to the bartenders occasionally.
Plus getting to each destination was an experience on the tiny planes. I sat shotgun with the pilot and drank beer the whole time...

I am really not sure what I should have in mind for a budget. Thinking we will do 5 or 6 nights, I feel like we should be able to get a great trip for $5k all in?

Did my honeymoon on St. Thomas and loved it. Been to St. John as well and I'd recommend staying on St. John over St. Thomas if that is what you decide to do. Beaches are beautiful and good food as well. Snorkeling is great as well. We stayed in a private condo and had a great time. Downfall is you need rent a jeep and do your own shopping, cooking, or go out to eat. I much prefer the privacy of my own place. I think you could definitely do a trip to St. John for $5k all in.

Is turtle inn difficulty to get to? Or is it just like a half day of travel

I guess it depends where you are starting from. I took a direct flight from Houston to Belize city. Small prop plane to Palencia for about 45 minutes maybe. Then just a few minutes away via car. I think they had someone pick us up. So for us it was maybe 6 hours.

Yea once you land in Belize City the little planes will just travel all the down to Punta Gorda dropping off and picking up people on the way. They are like damn busses lol. Going to Punta Gorda we stopped twice along way. Literally land, people get off, people get on, back in the air 5 minutes later.
