Thanks for the info. The reason I had gone to playa del carmen back in the day was its older authentic look which is what we like. How is the pricing for the hotel? All Inclusive? Compared to cancun, playa, cozumel?

I researched this island a couple of years ago. I learned that in the summer, this place is known as a location to be able to swim with whale sharks.

Yep. You can do the whale shark thing in the summer.
Hotel Secreto is not all-inclusive but they cater to my every need. I’m not an all-inclusive guy and Isla isn’t the island for that experience. It’s authentic Mexican and it’s cheap and easy to explore. Our rooms are only about $130 a night in the summer. In the high season they’re about $300. They are very nice rooms with a huge balcony with a queen sized daybed on it. Breakfast is brought to your room every morning and is included. I swear that Victor only charges me for one in every three drinks that I order.
