Will be staying in the western part right outside of Snæfellsjökull National Park. Anyone been to this particular park? Also, any recs for things to do in Reykjavík?

No advice on that specific park, but there have been a lot of threads discussing Reykjavik that should help.

Here’s one of the many AbitaFan08 is talking about. Have fun!

Enjoy your trip...

go to Lebowski bar in Reyjk... Cheer people on as they spin the wheel and get you some free beers passed your way. ( $25 to spin it and of course I whiffed and won nothing but 3 people in a row hit 10 beers which are about 12 bucks a piece American)

One of the funnest nights of my life was doing just that and everyone singing classic rock and dancing.

Loved Iceland. My favorite place I’ve ever been.

Blue Lagoon is expensive. Go to Secret Lagoon on the golden circle.

As for Reykjavík:
Mikkeller & Friends is a nice hole in the wall bar with good selection. And there is a good pizza place downstairs. (Pazzastaòurinn á Hverfisgötu 12)

Sæta Svínò is a really cool bar downtown. Great service!

Messin is a good place to eat downtown. Try their fish and rye bread dish.

On Hwy 1 in Steinar, there’s a little shack called Gamla fjosid ehfHVOLSVOLLUR. Great food. Near some great waterfalls as well.

Enjoy
