Has anyone stayed at El Dorado Royale (Playa Del Carmen?)

My S/o and another couple had a trip booked at Atelier Playa Mujeres in Late May, but due to a recent fire at the facility we rescheduled and are leaning towards El Dorado Royale.
Any experience with this resort? And any Evening events or shows here? Thanks in advance to this board

Stayed there with family for 7 to 10 days. Been several years ago but great experience. If memory serves me correctly. Lots of great restaurants and shows.
We have been to so many places they run together.

Dug through pictures to refresh my memory. We had a suite on lazy river. Didn't really use it that much. Spent more time in big pool and closer to the beach bars.

I've done el dorado maroma and am going back in July. Its amazing but very quiet. I've read where all the el dorados have the same great service, not sure about the night life at the others. This may not help you whatsoever.

If you're interested in changing...but still Playa.
This is where my wife and I honeymoon'd. I loved it.

I stayed once at the El Dorado seaside suites (the adults only version, next door to the Royale)
This was nearly 10 years ago, but based on my experience, 10/10 would recommend. I’ve been to 5 AIs and this was my favorite (although not my wife’s fave). I feel like there were at least two night shows but I mostly hung at the bar. The food was incredible.
Be warned the drive to Playa is long (it’s actually a little past playa). And would highly recommend you go see some Mayan ruins while you’re there, Tulum has lots. Since you’re already south you can book a trip to see 2-4 in a day. Do not waste time going to Chichenitza

stayed there just last summer.
Liked the resort and the staff was super friendly everywhere. Most of the bartenders had my drink ready for me before i even got to them, and even brought it too me a few times when they noticed i got low.
We had a great time, but the one thing that irritated me was the restaurants availability. It's like they all shut down in between 1 and 6 and there's only a handful of small little places you can get something to eat at that time.
But i will say the sandwiches that they made at the Health Bar that's right on the path that follows the beach are fricking awesome. Salmon Panini. make sure you get one.
The main pool area filled up quickly, but there's several other pools to go to with swim up bars and restaurants.
i don't know about shows, but there's music almost every night over there, and there's always something happening in the main pool.
we enjoyed our stay, but i also wasn't looking to go do much outside of the resort, or even in the resort. Spent our days relaxing and drinking all day.
