We had arranged transportation through our hotel. It was a little pricey, but the ride from the port to Oia will be at least 30 mins and having someone to help carry bags to your hotel could be very useful. If I remember correctly, there is a bit of a walk from the parking area to where the nice Oia hotels are.
We splurged on our hotel in Santorini and didn’t regret it at all. At the very least, I would try and spend an afternoon hanging out at your plunge pool or at the hotel pool relaxing and enjoying the views. They never get old!
