Just got back from Lisbon last night. Had a great time - good weather, decent food, and great culture.
We stayed at an apartment in Baixa which was a great location. Did some walking tours of Alfama and Chiado including the Castelo de San Jorge and the river front. Didn't make it to Belem, but that was fine with us.
We did a private tour of Sintra and visited the Palace Pena in the morning. That afternoon we went to the coast for lunch and then to Cabo da Roca before driving back to Lisbon along the shore (with a short stop in Cascais, but the kids were too tired at that point). That was probably our favorite day.
6 days is a lot of time in Lisbon - plan some day trips. Sintra, Obidos or Mafra.
Places to eat... We went to Sacramento one night. It was good, but a little too fancy for us. We ate at a small place called Taberna da Baixa which was very good. Cheap, local place with traditional Portugese food.

quote:damn that's all it took? I've been on this site for 9 years and never been part of a sticky. Hell my wife and i have a whole travel blog about life in Europe and travelling with kids... if she wouldn't divorce me for it, I'd link the blog! We've done about 15 countries and multiple cities in each of them.
Added to sticky!!!
I'm happy to offer advice when I can help.

Your photos were awesome and any additional input (reviews or photos) would certainly be appreciated by everybody on here! If you have a pretty detailed travel blog and are OK linking it on here, I will put it at the top of the sticky. The sticky is for the TD folks, by the TD folks...to enjoy And to help plan/decide on future trips.
About that blog, if you have already uploaded the photos all you have to do is link them to the post on here and that is pretty easy.... Plus you can control which photos you want us to see if your wife is not all that crazy about linking the entire blog

nah. Our blog has a lot of personal stuff in it, and requires an account and password to read it. My wife, being a lawyer, isn't keen about putting a lot of stuff in the public. She doesn't have facebook or other social media.
But I'll be happy to contribute when I see threads about places we've been, though!
