What is the best hotel in Glacier NP or is any one you can find a room at good. I know they stay booked up.

We went last, first time, and stayed outside the park two nights on the east side and two on the west.

I would stay at the main lodge at Many Glacier on the east and at Apgar village on the west. If you can get a room.

Glacier Park Lodge on the east side near East Glacier Village is cool but too far away from most things and I did not like the Lake McDonald lodge.

The Many Glacier hotel looked very nice, and is in a great location. I'd be happy to stay at the Swiftcurrent Motor Inn as well. It's further up the road a few miles from the Many Glacier hotel, but the Swiftcurrent Inn is next to the Many Glacier campground and is at the trailhead for the Iceberg Lake Hike and others. You can routinely see brown bear through scopes at the Swiftcurrent Inn. We camped for a week at the Many Glacier Campground which is wonderful, and damn difficult to get into. It's my favorite place in the park. The Swiftcurrent Inn has Huckleberry icecream which I ate daily after the hikes. Glacier is my favorite national park.

I didn’t know about that one but looked it up. It’s described as “Basic 1940’s motel with dining…”. It looked like a fine place to stay based on the online pictures.

Rising Sun is on the east side, within the park, so I think it is a good location for getting to places along the Going to the Sun Road.

Depending on when you go, and what the rules are, you may need a vehicle pass to get into the Many Glacier area or the Two Medicine area. We reserved a boat trip at Many which gave us access there. We were able to get a vehicle pass the day before we went to Two Medicine; that was a spur of the moment decision.
