We are doing a cruise in June and looking at this area. Looks pretty interesting. Would do on our own but will have in laws tagging along in their 70s. Have any of you been to this area. What is must see. Will be in port 8-8

Since no one else has responded, I will chime in here. The closest I have been to this area is the Cinque Terre which is spectacularly beautiful. It is not far away. You may want to look into the logistics of getting there and back in a 12 hour time frame. Your in laws may not want to do much hiking, but the trails are pretty easy towards the southern end.

If you are going to be in port in Genoa then Portofino is not that far by train. You can catch the shuttle in Rapallo to Portofino. The castle up above the town is really nice. The town is actually very small and has some restaurants and shops.
The area near the beach in Rapallo is very nice and makes for another spot to chill out at a cafe for a drink.
I think they also have a ferry service that runs Rapallo to Portofino if you want a different view point.
This is definitely a post card setting.
The wife and I actually hiked the peninsula from inland. Great hike I would rate as easy to moderate.
Great views.
