Folly Beach, SC recommendations

For our annual anniversary/spring break to Charleston this year we've rented a place on the northern end of Folly Beach. Typically we stay on Isle of Palms, so we know IOP/Sullivan's Island/Mt. Pleasant really well. Not quite as well versed on the other side of the peninsula outside of the plantations up Ashley River Road (will probably go to Magnolia) and Angel Oak/Tea Plantation out 700.
We've heard good things about Bowen's Island Restaurant so we'll probably give that a try. Also looking at Lost Dog Cafe for breakfast/brunch one day.
Will be the wife and I, 2 kids (3 & 1), sister in law and possibly mother in law

We prefer the beach and water out on IOP, but Folly is great too, and it has a much better town strip. Take the walk out toward the end of the island where you can see the lighthouse. Just take E Ashley north until it ends.
A few places we like or have heard good things about:
Chico Feo - Cool hidden outdoor spot with great food and live music. We'll usually stop there after the beach
Revelry Brewing - Relatively new tap room (though the whole thing is outside) right on Center St; we haven't eaten there but they have food in addition to their beers
Jack of Cups Saloon - We haven't been but it's supposed to be excellent
Lost Dog Cafe - Great breakfast/lunch spot
Rita's Seaside Grill is supposed to be good
Bowen's Island, which you mentioned, is really good with awesome views. If you watch Outer Banks that's a filming location. It's also where Charleston Outdoor Adventures is located. I'd highly recommend getting lunch at Bowen's and then doing the Morris Island Lighthouse tour.
Get a frozen drink at Coconut Joe's.
You mentioned John's Island as well...
The Wild Olive - excellent Italian
Royal Tern - upscale dining
Low Tide Brewing - fun little brewery with a beer garden
Tattooed Moose - Good bar food
Lost Isle - Live fire cooking, all outdoors (we're hoping to check this place out soon)

Chico Feos is a must. Pretty cool little spot.
Revelry Brewing is also pretty solid.

That's definitely on my to do list. We are staying up on that end of the island. Google maps says it's a 7 minute walk from the house to the end of the road and then another 10 minutes out to the water's edge.
Thanks for all of the suggestions.
